Volunteer at TakeOff Festival : Monday 17th – Sunday 23rd October

TakeOff Festival is England’s leading festival of theatre for children and young people. It is presented annually by Theatre Hullabaloo, the North East’s specialist producer of theatre for young audiences and is a week-long festival of shows, workshops and family fun for schools, families and children in venues across County Durham and the wider region.

This year we will be presenting 70 performances across 22 venues from schools to theatres, community venues to libraries, bringing some of the most exciting theatre companies from the UK to the region so that their work can be enjoyed by thousands of children and young people.

The highlight of the week is our Family Day when TakeOff Festival takes over Durham City Centre and fills the streets full of amazing shows, street theatre, installations, storytelling, arts and craft workshops and tons of other amazing things to do and see with the whole family.

Volunteering at TakeOff Festival is a great way to be able to see fantastic theatre for young audiences, meet new people and develop skills. Join our friendly team and work alongside Theatre Hullabaloo staff to greet families, steward venues, look after artists, support the marketing of the festival and have a lot of fun!

Key Festival Roles will be:

  • Front of House Stewards
  • Social Media Support
  • Supporting Technical Crew
  • Assisting Artists with Workshops on the Family Day

No experience needed, just a passion for the arts and bags of energy!

Theatre Hullabaloo will pay travel expenses and subsistence to support volunteers at the festival plus provide complimentary tickets to festival shows.
